We plan to design a new assessment system to accompany the Interactions curriculum. This system will allow collection of open-ended assessment responses, both text and electronic free hand drawings to formative assessment items in Interactions. Further, the system will embed automated scoring tools based on natural language processing and image recognition into a newly designed web-portal to allow the integration of curriculum materials, assessments, and automatic scoring with real-time feedback. Students receive automatic feedback on their responses based on the AI classification of their responses. Students and teachers will be able to review predicted classification and feedback statements.
